Captivated by Colors:

By Jessica Jeong

As I wander through the city,
I often catch myself wondering:

What if the wind had colors?

What if it danced through the streets
—twisting, weaving, rushing past with relentless energy?

This sculpture brings that fleeting vision to life,
capturing the invisible with form and motion.

Nature’s Pattern

I find myself deeply inspired by the intricate patterns found in nature.

From the delicate spirals of a leaf to a rhythmic flow of water, nature’s design is something untouchable and sparks my imagination.

Wonderland

The Library

Sometimes, I feel a sense of unease
when I'm in a library.

A dizzy almost fearful sensation
that I can not quite place.

I have sought to visualize this
uneasiness through
gouache, watercolor, markers and ink.

Building the Nature

Markers and Guache on Paper

The city's dynamic blend of rigidness and the gentle touch of nature's pattern is a source of intrigue for me.

I get fascinated by the intersection of nature and architecture,
particularly how these two interact and coexist in a single space.

Derived from the Nature

Acrylic on Film
I have always been captivated by the beauty found in details. Each touch of brush marks in my work is made with precision , layering brushstrokes that create depth and texture.
The layering process is not just a simple technique; it’s a way of building my wonderland world, piece by piece. Using transparent plastic films, I layer them with light beneath creating my wonderland.

Wonderland

Pen and Ink
Fascinated by the intricate beauty of details, my work explores the unexpected patterns that emerge from seemingly ordinary moments. One such inspiration comes from observing the reflection of moisture or the delicate bubbles that form naturally. These subtle occurrences capture my attention, revealing intricate and fleeting designs that often go unnoticed.

Visualize Moisture 1

Acrylic on Canvas
Walking down the streets of NYC, I once stepped on a puddle and watched the ripples spread. In that moment, I wondered, what would it be like from the perspective of a raindrop? The reflection touches, distortion when I step on the puddle. My work seeks to capture such a moment from the perspective of the raindrop.
